Chapter 24

When an adult gives me a lecture on how being educated can help me out in the future, I listen to what they have to say. Sometimes I get tired of hearing the same things be said to me from my parents and other family members. But I know that if so many people are telling me how important it is, then it probably really is important. I know that what they are saying is true, and I listen to what they have to say.

Chapter 20

Holden pretends that he has been shot in the guts. While he is in Central Park by the duck pond, he pretends to have pneumonia. Holden says these things while he is drunk because he likes to get attention. When he is sober, he does not do anything about his loneliness. But when he is drunk, his confidence is raised and the is not afraid to draw attention to himself.
